What are the types of ratchet tie down strap?

Whether you're transporting heavy equipment, a trailer or a car, a ratchet tie down strap will help you secure your cargo and protect it from harm. However, if you don't use your straps properly, they may not be able to hold the weight you need. It's best to check them on a regular basis and replace them if they're worn or damaged.

When you're using a ratchet tie down, you should make sure that you are using the correct hardware. There are several different types of hooks and rings available. These include wire hooks, snap hooks, grab hooks and flat hooks. You should also be aware that some straps have a working load limit (WLL) on them, which is a maximum amount of weight you can secure. If you exceed the WLL, you could cause damage to your cargo or personnel. If you're looking to increase the weight that you can secure, you can buy chain hooks to attach to the ratchet.

The most common type of ratchet strap is a two-inch strap. These are popular for trailers and flatbed trucks. The strap is generally 12-18 inches long. It has a WLL of around 1,000 pounds.

A 1 inch strap is a lighter duty ratchet strap, and the WLL is slightly lower. These straps are often used for DIY applications or motorcycle transportation. They are also good for moving and gardening.

The next type of ratchet strap is 4". These are great for heavier-duty applications and they have a WLL of around 5,400 pounds. They're usually used with L-track or E-track hardware. You can find these straps in consumer widths of 25mm and 38mm. These straps are best for securing large cargo. You can also find industrial chains for heavy-duty usage. They can be attached to the J hooks of a ratchet strap.
